Subject: - Implementation of I.C.D –10 w.e.f. 1st. January, 2005
The coding and indexing of Morbidity and Mortality cases based on I.C.D – 10 will start in Medical Record Department (MRD) w.e.f 1st January 2005. A list of three-character categories diseases as per ICD-10 is being sent for awareness among the doctors and nursing staff that deals with medical records department. Kindly bring this in to the notice of doctors to use the terms of diagnosis according to ICD- 10 and self made abbreviations may also be avoided.
Subject: Computerization in the department of MRD
The Medical Records Department is under the process of computerization to further enhance the efficiency of record keeping. We are installing a new computer in the reception and admission counter, which will be directly connected to the MRD. One more Photostat machine has already been provided to the MRD for smooth functioning of the system.
Subject: Online Registration of Birth and Death
Recently the NDMC health department has launched a program of E-governance to issue the computerized birth and death certificates to facilitate the instant availability of birth and death certificates. In collaboration with the NDMC, birth and death taking place in our hospital will be registered with the central server of the NDMC by our hospital. The Director (IT) NDMC will provide the software and necessary training to the MRD staff in this connection. The hospital authority is providing internet connection to the MRD very soon.
