GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL MECHANISM , LHMC & SMT SK HOSPITAL
LHMC & Smt S K hospital has a Grievance Redressal Cell under the chairmanship of Dr. S.C. Mohapatra , Addl. Med. Supdt. who acts as Grievance Officer for redressal of the grievances of the patients / public and recommends action against erring officials /staff to P&MS of the institution after conducting necessary enquiry into the complaint. The Grievance Cell looks after the complaints made by the public through letters .The time limits for disposal of Public Grievances are scrupulously adhered to MOH&FW Circular No. C. 13016 /21 /96-Estt.IV dated 26-8-1997 as under ;
1. Issue of acknowledgement / interim reply 2 Weeks .
2. Forwarding of the grievance petition to the concerned authority 2 Weeks .
3. Final disposal 3 Month
The status of grievances in the institute for the calendar year 2003 had already been sent to the Director (Grievances) ,DGHS ,Grievance Redressal Cell ,Nirman Bhawan ,New Delhi-11 on 6-1-2004 There have been nine complaints received by the Grievance Cell in the last 6 months i.e. from March,2004 to August ,2004 and all are redressed and closed
The specific area they relate to are :
· Misbehavior by doctors, nurses, staff ,security personnel etc.
· Failure of Sterilization Operation .
· Supply of underweight Gas Cylinders with convenience of kitchen staff of SSK Hospital .
· Extortion of money by staff from relatives of patients .
The action taken to address the problems after investigation are :
· Remedial / preventive measures taken .
· Disciplinary action against concerned staff taken .
· Transfer of concerned staff from the sensitive place on public complaint .
For simplification of procedures immediate action is taken by Grievance Officer on getting even verbal/minor complaint from the public .The patients and their relatives are advised to directly contact the Grievance Officer in time of their need . Name & Telephone No. (Both Office and Residence ) of Grievance Officer is displayed at Reception Counter . Particulars of Grievance Officer is as under :
